Info About Formal Religious Education

Catholic parents who wish to have their children receive the sacraments are required to send their children to formal religious education yearly starting with the first grade.

Shrine Church of St. Jude Religious Education for Levels 1 - 7 meet every Sunday, at 9:00 in the school and concludes with the 10:30 Mass.

It is never too late to registered your child for Levels 1- 7 this year, (new or old parents) please pick-up a registration form in the Church and bring it in on Sunday.  Please also bring a copy of child's Baptismal certificate.   Two complete years are required before the reception of the sacrament of First Holy Communion.

Religious Education is ongoing, just like regular school.   We realize that sometimes there are situations that prevent you from enrolling your child for Sunday class.   Now there is a way that they can stay on grade level.  We are offering an online class from My Catholic Faith Delivered. This program is offered for Levels 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7.  The online course is not being offered for the Sacrament years (Level 2 and Confirmation).  Children must be present for those two years.  Once your child is registered and participating in the program I will be able to monitor his/her progress.  This class is for instruction and does not replace our Sunday obligation of going to Mass.  E-Mail MsTeiferSJoAMSJu@aol.com for more information.

**** Confirmation Class - Students must be in at least 8th Grade and have had 2 years of formal Religious Education (Catholic school or Religious Ed) to be eligible to receive this sacrament.  Classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the school.  Please use parking lot entrance. ****
